Biten Singh Shatters Course Record to Win Ironman 70.3 Goa 2026
Biten Singh clinches the Ironman 70.3 Goa title, breaking the course record with a time of 4:24:29, showcasing remarkable endurance.

Madgaon, November 1 (Daily Kiran) : Indian Army athlete Biten Singh made headlines on November 1, 2026, by winning the sixth edition of the Ironman 70.3 Goa with a record-breaking performance. He completed the race in 4 hours, 24 minutes, and 29 seconds, surpassing the previous course record of 4:25:47 set by Uzbekistan’s Konstantin Belousov in 2025.
Singh’s time was 1 minute and 18 seconds faster than last year’s champion, marking a significant achievement in one of India’s premier endurance sports events.
The competition drew over 2,000 triathletes from 30 countries, featuring a challenging course that included a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer bike ride, and a 21.1-kilometer run, starting from the famous Miramar Beach. This edition reaffirmed Goa’s status as an excellent venue for international endurance sports, attracting top athletes and relay teams from various age groups.
Singh’s victory is particularly noteworthy given the challenging conditions he faced during training. Stationed in Tawang, he dedicated three months to rigorous preparation while balancing his military duties. After being forced to withdraw from the 2024 edition due to dehydration, he set his sights on breaking the record this year.
In the women’s category, Marina Shlyakhtina claimed first place with a time of 5:30:29. Sabina Iskakova followed in second with 5:42:58, while Melanie Vendt secured third with a time of 6:04:54.
The relay category also showcased fierce competition, with “Team Fit Swaggers Goa” finishing first in 4:33:24. “Team Serious About Training” and “Team Airforce 2” followed closely in second and third, respectively, with times of 4:35:22 and 4:47:04.
