Bihars Rising Drug Trade Poses Serious Concerns, Urges Manoj Jha to Address Amit Shah

Manoj Jha calls on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to focus on Bihars escalating drug trade, warning of its impact on future generations.

Mumbai, October 22 (Daily Kiran) : The escalating drug trade in Bihar has raised alarms, prompting Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Kumar Jha to urge Union Home Minister Amit Shah to pay special attention to the situation. Jha expressed concern that if the current trend continues, future generations could face significant harm.

Despite the state’s prohibition on alcohol, the increase in drug trafficking has become apparent following the Kota drug case. Jha referenced a report from a leading English newspaper that presented evidence and statistics on the issue. He stated that a whole generation is at risk of being ruined due to substance abuse. “When there is no government control, this is what happens,” he remarked, noting that the situation has spiraled out of control, potentially leading to an uptick in violent crimes such as murder and rape.

Jha emphasized the urgency of addressing the drug crisis, urging the public to consider how to prevent its impact on the next generation. He warned that neglecting this issue could lead to devastating consequences for society.

In a message directed at Amit Shah via social media, Jha pointed out that while Punjab is receiving attention, Bihar also deserves scrutiny. He stressed that the issue is not just political but deeply connected to the youth and society as a whole.

Responding to Shah’s statement about making India drug-free by 2029, Jha questioned whether this goal applies to Punjab alone or the entire nation. He pointed out discrepancies in the targets set, some extending to 2047, and expressed skepticism about the feasibility of such long-term solutions. “No country can claim to resolve a specific problem by 2047,” he stated, highlighting a growing distrust in the government’s promises.

As Bihar prepares for elections to eight seats in the Legislative Council, Jha mentioned that the campaign period is now over. He noted that Tejashwi Yadav has released a video message, and there is hope that the presence of the opposition, particularly traditional factions, will compel the government to alter its policies.
