
Samastipur, May 20: In Bihar, police have intensified their efforts against crime. Late Tuesday night, a shootout occurred in Samastipur district, resulting in the injury of a wanted criminal. This incident marks a series of confrontations reported over the past three days.
During the shootout in Bhagwanpur Deswa village, a wanted criminal named Prince Kumar was shot in the leg.
According to reports, police received a tip-off that Prince Kumar, involved in multiple robbery and theft incidents, was hiding in Bhagwanpur Desua village with his accomplices, planning a significant crime.
Acting on the information, the police team launched a late-night raid. As they surrounded the area to apprehend the criminals, Prince opened fire upon noticing the police. In response, the police returned fire, injuring him in the leg, leading to his capture.
Following the incident, the wounded criminal was taken under police protection to Samastipur Sadar Hospital for treatment. Senior police officials have refrained from making detailed comments on the matter.
It is noteworthy that just the previous night, a shootout in the Gopalpur police station area of Patna left one suspect injured in connection with a robbery of 2.7 million rupees from a cash van. Three other suspects were also arrested in this case. Additionally, two wanted criminals were injured in separate shootouts in Patna and Siwan early Monday morning.
