Bihar Legislator Anant Singh Faces Notice Over Allegations of Anti-Party Activities
Bihars Anant Singh has been issued a notice by the assembly for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities, with a response required within seven days.

Patna, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : The Bihar Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued a notice to Mokama MLA Anant Singh, requiring him to respond within seven days to allegations of anti-party activities. The notice, directed by Assembly Speaker Prem Kumar, was delivered to Singh on Monday.
This action follows a formal complaint from the Janata Dal (United) party, which accuses Singh of working against the party’s interests. The party has called for the termination of his assembly membership. Umesh Kushwaha, the state president of JD(U), submitted a petition to Speaker Prem Kumar, urging action against Singh.
To support its claims, the party presented various documents, including newspaper clippings and CDs. Following an investigation, the Speaker instructed the assembly secretariat to initiate formal proceedings, leading to the issuance of the notice.
As of now, no decision has been made regarding the termination of Singh’s assembly membership. The next steps will depend on his response and the Speaker’s evaluation of the situation.
This controversy is linked to the recent Bihar Legislative Council elections, during which Singh openly opposed JD(U) candidate Neeraj Kumar in the Patna Graduates constituency and campaigned for Anuj Kumar, the candidate from the ‘Jan Suraj’ party. Neeraj Kumar was the official NDA candidate and also serves as the chief spokesperson for JD(U).
Due to his public dissent against the party nominee, both Anant Singh and his wife, former MLA Neelam Singh, were expelled from the party for six years. Previously, the party had tasked Union Minister and Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh) with mediating the differences between Singh and Neeraj Kumar.
JD(U) National Executive President Sanjay Jha also indicated that Lalan Singh would intervene to resolve the dispute, although the disagreements between the two leaders persisted during the election campaign. Reports suggest that comments made by Lalan Singh heightened tensions, complicating reconciliation efforts.
Despite Singh’s opposition, Neeraj Kumar won the Patna Graduates constituency. Following his victory, he declined to accept congratulations and blessings from Lalan Singh, making a pointed remark about repaying political debts with interest. However, just two days later, Neeraj’s stance shifted as he began publicly praising Lalan Singh, introducing a new dynamic into the ongoing political developments within JD(U).
