
Patna, May 18: The Bihar government has made a significant administrative decision to address the rising number of land disputes and expedite pending cases. The Revenue and Land Reforms Department has increased the membership of the Bihar Land Tribunal from four to seven members. Additionally, five new judicial members have been appointed to the tribunal.
Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal stated that the state government is committed to timely resolution of land-related cases. This important step aims to provide swift justice to the public and ensure quick handling of land matters.
He explained that the total number of tribunal members has been redefined to seven under the provisions of the Bihar Land Tribunal Act, 2009. This change is expected to accelerate the resolution of cases, reducing the waiting time for justice.
A notification issued by Jay Singh, Secretary of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department, confirmed that this decision was made with government approval. The state government has also appointed five new judicial members to the Bihar Land Tribunal in Patna. The newly appointed members include retired District and Sessions Judge Manoj Kumar from Kishanganj, retired Principal District and Sessions Judge Kishore Prasad from Purnea, advocate Kumar Naveen from Patna High Court, retired District and Sessions Judge Ravindra Patwari from Gaya, and advocate Ravindra Rai from Patna High Court.
Minister Dilip Kumar Jaiswal emphasized that the state government prioritizes the resolution of land disputes. Various measures are being implemented to strengthen the tribunal, ensuring that citizens receive prompt and effective justice.
