Patna, September 4 (Daily Kiran) : Independent MP Pappu Yadav has sharply criticized the central government regarding the escalating flood threat in Bihar and the ongoing student protests. He highlighted that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has shown support for the student movement, urging student leader Nishhu Azad to recognize that their struggle is now a shared one.
Yadav accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of failing to adequately address the worsening flood situation in the state. He pointed out that, despite the increasing severity of the floods in Bihar, both the ruling party and the opposition have not demonstrated the necessary seriousness regarding this critical issue.
In a pointed remark, Yadav noted that while Bihar grapples with flood challenges, Modi seems preoccupied with events abroad. He referenced Modi’s upcoming visit to Delhi University, suggesting that it marks the first time in nearly 12 years that the Prime Minister is set to engage with students amid rising discontent.
The MP emphasized that the concerns of the nation’s youth and students must be taken seriously. He interpreted Gandhi’s support for the Bihar student protests as a sign that their issues are gaining national recognition.
Yadav also criticized the central government and BJP leaders regarding GDP and GST, questioning their understanding of these economic terms. He raised doubts about government claims related to GDP growth rates and expressed concern over the troubling state of investment and capital outflow from the country. He insisted that the true economic situation should be transparently communicated to the public.
According to Yadav, the most pressing issue for Bihar at this moment is the flood crisis. He urged both the central and state governments to prioritize immediate relief efforts and ensure the safety of affected residents. He stressed that delivering assistance to flood victims is far more critical than political rhetoric.
Yadav reiterated that Gandhi’s backing of the student protests sends a vital message of solidarity. He asserted that the voices of the youth should be heard rather than suppressed, noting that Gandhi stands with them in addressing their concerns during these challenging times.
