Patna, April 25: In a significant crackdown on illegal arms manufacturing, a joint team from the Special Task Force (STF) and Munger police has dismantled a small gun factory located in the Tarapur Diara area across the Ganges River. Officials reported this development on Saturday.

During the operation, four suspects were arrested. This incident falls under the jurisdiction of the Mufassil police station. Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid on Friday evening.

To reach the site, officers crossed the Ganges River by boat from Maniyarchak Ghat, highlighting the remote and concealed nature of this illegal operation.

The raid resulted in the capture of four individuals. The arrested suspects have been identified as Mohammad Sarfaraz alias Langda, Mohammad Atiq, Prakash Singh alias Prakash Bind, and Vikas Kumar. A large quantity of weapons and manufacturing equipment was seized from the location.

The recovered items included two completed pistols, three unfinished pistols, seven live cartridges, four base machines, and a hand drill machine, along with various other tools used in the illegal production of firearms.

Mufassil SHO Vipin Kumar Singh confirmed that FIRs have been filed against all four suspects. After being presented in district court, they have been remanded to judicial custody.

Police officials stated that further investigations are ongoing to uncover the larger network behind the illegal gun factory and to trace its supply chain and connections.
