Mumbai witnessed a tragic loss in the Baramati plane crash where flight attendant Pinky Mali from Worli passed away. Her father, Shivkumar Mali, expressed his deep sorrow and said his only wish is to receive his daughter’s body to perform her last rites with due respect.
Speaking to reporters, Shivkumar Mali shared that he had spoken to Pinky just a day before the accident. She had told him, “Papa, I am going to Baramati with Ajit Pawar and from there, I will travel to Nanded.” He added that she had been accompanying Ajit Pawar on his recent trips regularly.
“I have lost my daughter. I do not understand the technical details of what happened. I am completely shattered. I just want my daughter’s body to give her a proper farewell,” Shivkumar said emotionally.
Meanwhile, the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has dispatched a team from Delhi to Pune to probe the deadly plane crash in Baramati. The crash claimed the lives of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar along with four others. After reaching Pune, the team will proceed to Baramati to begin a detailed investigation.
According to flight details, the crash occurred on Wednesday morning during the plane’s landing phase. Emergency services and senior security officials swiftly reached the crash site in Baramati. Rescue teams were deployed immediately after the aircraft lost control while landing.
Officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) also arrived at the site to assist with the investigation. Sources revealed that Ajit Pawar’s body was identified by the watch he was wearing.
The Maharashtra Police confirmed that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash. Authorities are examining the wreckage carefully to study the impact speed and angle, and detailed photographs of the site are being taken for analysis.
