Babulal Marandi Calls for CBI Investigation After Jharkhand PSC Exams Cancelled

Ranchi, August 19: Following the cancellation of several Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) exams, opposition leader Babulal Marandi has raised concerns about the integrity of the investigations. He has reiterated his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the matter.

In a social media post, Marandi specifically highlighted alleged irregularities in the 11th to 13th combined civil service exams conducted by JPSC. He raised questions regarding claims that the interview board was influenced and the roles of officials involved in the investigation. Marandi asserted that Ramveer Singh and Abhay Tiwari, associated with the TDPL agency, admitted to manipulating the interview board for the JPSC exams.

According to Marandi, Singh allegedly confessed that candidates were summoned to the interview board by the then JPSC president and members after decoding codes. He questioned how an impartial investigation could be conducted if officials from the investigating agency were allegedly part of the manipulation.

Marandi pointed out that several IPS officers, including CID’s ADG Manoj Kaushik, were part of the interview board. He urged Chief Minister Hemant Soren to assign the investigation to the CBI.

He emphasized that if there are allegations of tampering in the interview process, all officials involved should have their statements recorded, and action should be taken against those found guilty. Marandi noted that the government’s notification mentions irregularities in the exams based on the CID investigation, which has already led to the arrest of the JPSC president.

He questioned why no action has been taken against Prashant Kumar, the acting president of JSSC. Marandi concluded that merely cancelling the exams is not sufficient. A credible and impartial investigation is essential to identify those involved in the alleged irregularities and ensure accountability.
