Guwahati, August 8: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has advised students to concentrate on their studies. He emphasized that education is the only lasting path to success and warned that “noise and unrest” will never lead to a meaningful career.
Speaking at a government event on Friday, the Chief Minister urged students to make the most of their academic years, describing this phase of life as the most crucial, one that will never return.
Sarma remarked that there is much happening around us today. He cautioned the youth against distractions that could divert them from their education. He stressed that while there may be “noise and unrest,” these will not build a career. Students should remain dedicated to learning rather than getting entangled in issues that could derail their academic journey.
The Chief Minister stated that education remains the most powerful tool for social and economic advancement, especially for middle-class, lower-middle-class, and impoverished families, serving as a strong foundation for a better future. He asserted that anyone who believes there is an alternative to education is mistaken, emphasizing that there is no substitute for knowledge and continuous academic effort.
He directly addressed students, reminding them that their school and college years are a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. He noted that these years will not come back, and those who fully utilize them will not regret it later.
Sarma further added that life presents many opportunities, but only those with knowledge and skills can fully capitalize on them. Emphasizing discipline and dedication, he encouraged students to focus wholeheartedly on their learning, as education opens doors to hope, opportunities, and long-term success.
