Gurdaspur, April 4: Former Union Law Minister Ashwini Kumar has called for global peace amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia. He commended Prime Minister Modi’s efforts and urged the opposition to support the government.
Kumar stated that the war in Iran is unfolding under complex circumstances, making it impossible for any other nation to resolve the conflict. He highlighted that PM Modi’s repeated appeals to end the war demonstrate India’s significant role in these intricate issues. He noted that a third country can only make appeals at most.
He emphasized that this indicates India’s voice is being heard. India has sought to strengthen its relationships with the United States, Israel, and Iran. To some extent, this has been successful, as oil and gas supplies are still flowing through the Strait of Hormuz. Kumar asserted that if India aims to enhance its status as a global leader, it must emerge as a peace ambassador worldwide.
He remarked that just as the opposition expects to be heard by the ruling party, it is the opposition’s duty to trust the government’s judgment regarding national policies and security, and to offer their support.
Regarding Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, he expressed hope that opposition parties would recognize the importance of supporting government decisions in such critical situations.
