New Delhi, March 26: Apple has announced new members for its American Manufacturing Program (AMP), reinforcing its commitment to advanced manufacturing and essential component production in the United States. The tech giant plans to invest $400 million in these initiatives by 2030.
On Thursday, Apple revealed the latest partners in its AMP, furthering its dedication to enhancing advanced manufacturing and the production of critical components in the U.S.
CEO Tim Cook stated on the social media platform ‘X’, “Apple is collaborating with Bosch, Cirrus Logic, TDK, and Quniti Electronics to produce essential materials and components in America. These components will be used in Apple products sold worldwide. This initiative will create new job opportunities and strengthen America’s manufacturing capabilities. Apple plans to invest $400 million in these new programs by 2030.”
Cook emphasized, “At Apple, we believe in the power of American innovation and manufacturing. We take pride in producing essential components and advanced materials right here in the U.S. Today, we are expanding Apple’s American supply chain through partnerships with world-class companies like Bosch, Cirrus Logic, TDK, and Quniti Electronics. This demonstrates what is possible when we invest in American talent, and we are excited to build the future together.”
This expansion accelerates the momentum of the American Manufacturing Program (AMP), which is a key part of Apple’s $600 billion commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation over four years.
Initial partners, including Amcor, Applied Materials, Broadcom, Coherent, Corning, GlobalFoundries, GlobalWafers America, MP Materials, Samsung, and Texas Instruments, have already achieved significant milestones in expanding advanced manufacturing in the U.S. and strengthening Apple’s domestic supply chain.
As part of its efforts to support U.S. jobs and manufacturing, Apple also launched the Apple Manufacturing Academy in Detroit last year. This academy provides practical training in AI, automation, and smart manufacturing to small and medium-sized manufacturers. So far, the academy has supported nearly 150 businesses, offering various free in-person training sessions and virtual programming.
