Raipur, May 18: The Bastar division of Chhattisgarh is set to host its first-ever high-level meeting of the Central Regional Council. This significant event will take place on May 19 in Jagdalpur, under the leadership of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Chief Ministers from various states are expected to attend.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sahay described this meeting as a pivotal moment in Bastar’s history. He emphasized that the event symbolizes a new era of peace, security, and development for the region.
During the visit, Chief Minister Sahay welcomed Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. The three leaders engaged in discussions on various contemporary issues.
Sahay noted that Bastar, once plagued by Naxalite violence, is now making rapid strides towards development and trust. He believes that the presence of senior national leaders and Chief Ministers from different states signifies the region’s transformation.
He expressed confidence that this meeting would strengthen inter-state coordination and play a crucial role in building a safe, developed, and self-reliant Bastar.
Prior to this, Chief Minister Sahay held a meeting with senior administrative officials, assigning various responsibilities to ensure that preparations for the event are flawless. He instructed that all arrangements should be made with optimal coordination and seriousness.
Sahay highlighted the vital role of the Central Regional Council in the creation of a developed India. He pointed out that this council is unique in that there are no disputes among member states, serving as an excellent example of mutual cooperation and coordination.
He added that regional councils have become an effective platform for enhancing dialogue, cooperation, and coordination between states and the central government. Strong states contribute to a strong nation, and with this mindset, regional councils are steering development, administrative coordination, and national unity in a new direction.
