Amit Shah Promises to Drive Out Illegal Immigrants if BJP Wins in Bengal

Kolkata, April 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed a rally in the Kulthi assembly constituency while campaigning for the West Bengal assembly elections. He reiterated his party’s promises and launched a verbal attack on the TMC government.

Shah stated, “The land of Kulthi was once used for blast furnaces. Iron from here was sent across India and exported to many countries. Due to Mamata Banerjee’s misgovernance, those furnaces have shut down. We will work to restore Kulthi’s status as an ‘Iron City.’ Illegal mining will be stopped.”

He emphasized, “The West Bengal election is a chance to make Bengal free of illegal immigrants. If you form a BJP government, we will work to remove every single illegal immigrant from Bengal. Mamata’s goons should listen carefully: if there is any disruption during the voting on April 23, we will take action after May 4. Mamata’s goons have no power against the people of Bengal. Mamata does not care about the youth of Bengal; she wants to place her nephew in power, but that dream will not come true. She spreads lies that an outsider will become the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister of Bengal will be someone born in Bengal and who speaks Bengali.”

Shah also mentioned that the Mamata administration has removed some Gorkhas from the electoral rolls. “No problem. The seats are coming to us anyway. Once the elections are over, the BJP will gradually reinstate every Gorkha in the voter list,” he added.

He promised initiatives such as opening schools in tea gardens, granting land ownership rights to tea garden workers, providing housing leases, and increasing wages for tea garden workers by over ₹500 within two years. “We will establish four new industrial cities in North Bengal. The BJP will ensure that all government employees receive the benefits of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days. If you elect a BJP government, we will introduce a Uniform Civil Code (UCC),” he said.

Shah also announced that the BJP government would provide ₹3,000 per month to women and the unemployed, ₹21,000 to pregnant mothers, and 33% reservation for women in government jobs. Additionally, women will be offered free bus travel. The minimum support price (MSP) for rice will be set at ₹3,100 per quintal, and the Kisan Samman Nidhi will be increased from ₹6,000 to ₹9,000 annually.

He concluded, “The BJP will completely eradicate the injustices occurring in Darjeeling and North Bengal. This election is not just about electing our two candidates; it is about ensuring the safety of our mothers and sisters from the hills of Darjeeling to the Ganges Sagar and from the Ganges Sagar to the capital of Bengal, Kolkata. This election is a response to years of injustice and neglect in North Bengal. Mamata should be ashamed that, despite being a female Chief Minister, illegal immigrants have abused our mothers and sisters year after year under her rule. Jobs have been sold during her administration. We will provide jobs to one lakh youth every year through a transparent process, without any money or recommendations.”
