Amit Shah Praises NCB for Busting Two Drug Units in Greater Noida

Amit Shah commends NCB for dismantling two drug labs in Greater Noida, seizing significant quantities of amphetamines.

Greater Noida, October 17 (Daily Kiran) : Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for its successful operation in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where two clandestine drug laboratories were dismantled. This operation, which took place on Saturday, also led to the arrest of two traffickers, including a foreign national.

According to officials, the NCB seized a staggering 379.740 kilograms of material containing amphetamines, which is estimated to yield around 56 kilograms of finished crystalline amphetamine. The total estimated market value of the seized drugs is approximately ₹45 crores.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Destiny Abraham Dumberi and Mizoram resident Lallawmazuaili, also known as Olivia Lalchawimawi. In a post on social media platform X, Shah highlighted the significance of this operation, describing it as a major achievement in the fight against drug trafficking. He noted that a substantial quantity of synthetic drugs, along with drug manufacturing materials and equipment, was confiscated during the raid.

Shah remarked that this operation exemplifies intelligence-based action and reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug cartels by December 2029, in line with the Narcotics Control Vision Document 2026-2029 under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India) mission led by Prime Minister Modi. He extended his congratulations to the NCB for this remarkable success.

Acting on specific intelligence, the NCB conducted the operation on Friday in Jahangabad Kadulpur village, located in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Both laboratories were reportedly operating from rented premises that had been converted for the production and processing of synthetic drugs.

The NCB’s statement revealed that immigration records indicated Dumberi entered India on a valid tourist visa in January 2020, under the identity of Francis Kalokoh from Sierra Leone, and remained until December 2020. Olivia had previously been arrested in March 2026 at Goa’s Dabolim Airport by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) in a separate case involving the seizure of 313 grams of heroin powder from her checked baggage. She is currently out on bail.

The recent operation resulted in the recovery of various forms of amphetamines, including 4.260 kilograms of crystalline, 157.700 kilograms of semi-crystalline, and 217.780 kilograms of liquid substances, along with 10 kilograms of pseudoephedrine. The NCB also reported the seizure of a large quantity of chemicals, such as hydrochloric acid, acetone, toluene, sulfuric acid, and potassium permanganate, which are commonly used in the production of methamphetamine.

The facilities were equipped for chemical processing, featuring high-capacity heating mantles, glass reaction vessels, chemical storage drums, filtration equipment, weighing scales, respirators, and other laboratory apparatus.
