
Ahmedabad, May 17: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the ‘Million Minds Tech Park’ and the ‘Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute’ in Ahmedabad on Sunday.
During the event, Minister Shah emphasized that Gujarat has historically led the nation since independence and will continue to lead in the technology sector. He stated that development is in the DNA of Gujaratis. These two projects aim to elevate Gujarat from a manufacturing hub to a leading state in global services and technology.
Shah expressed his intention to position Gujarat among the top three states in the service sector, highlighting the state’s focus on economic activities. The Million Minds Tech Park is expected to create new high-skill job opportunities for thousands of youth. He hopes that the tech park will promote research, innovation, and technology development in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and semiconductors. This project will play a crucial role in developing a world-class technology ecosystem in the state.
The Ganesh Real Estate Management Institute is set to modernize the real estate sector by fostering professionalism. The institute will offer modern urban planning, technology-based courses, and training aligned with global standards to create skilled human resources.
Shah noted that Gujarat is currently guiding the nation in technology, industry, and modern infrastructure development. Such specialized institutions and technology-based projects will help strengthen the state’s position in the global economy.
He mentioned that the tech city, developed over approximately 65 acres near the Vaishnodevi Circle in the Ahmedabad-GIFT City-Gandhinagar high growth corridor, will include Grade-A office spaces, residential facilities, retail, and hospitality infrastructure. This project is expected to generate over 70,000 high-skill jobs.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel stated that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Minister Amit Shah, Gujarat has transformed development politics into a national ideology. He highlighted the state’s remarkable progress in manufacturing, ports, infrastructure, green energy, pharmaceuticals, and investment. Gujarat is now advancing toward a new phase focused on IT, innovation, and a technology-based economy.
The Chief Minister added that the Million Minds Tech Park will play a vital role in the state’s technology-driven development. This project is not merely a real estate initiative; it will become a center for high-skill job creation and accelerate the digital economy. The first phase of the project will create a significant number of jobs.
He further mentioned that Gujarat 2.0 is becoming a reality in areas like the digital economy, artificial intelligence, semiconductors, global capability centers, and knowledge-based services. The state’s IT policy and GCC policy, along with the central government’s incentive policies, will significantly boost the IT sector in Gujarat.
The Chief Minister remarked that GIFT City is evolving into a global financial and technology ecosystem, while the semiconductor ecosystem developing in Sanand and Dholera will establish Gujarat as a semiconductor hub. GIFT City and Dholera are poised to become powerful engines of economic growth for the state.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for approving the country’s first semi-high-speed rail project between Ahmedabad and Dholera, which will cost around ₹20,000 crores. This modern infrastructure is expected to attract domestic and foreign investments.
The Chief Minister noted that Ahmedabad has become one of the fastest-developing cities in the country, equipped with metro, riverfront, expressways, modern urban facilities, and robust connectivity. The infrastructure being developed for the Commonwealth Games is positioning Ahmedabad as a global city.
He expressed confidence that Gujarat will play a significant role in realizing the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’ and congratulated Deepakbhai Patel, Chairman of Ganesh Group, and MD Shekharbhai Patel for their contributions to this modern project.
During a panel discussion at the event, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi stated that the future belongs to Gujarat, which is fully prepared to welcome investors and industries from across the globe. He mentioned that GIFT City is set to become a hub for several major global companies. Gujarat is advancing rapidly not only in industrial development but also in technology, financial services, and modern infrastructure.
Prominent industry figures present at the event included Deepakbhai Patel, Chairman of Ganesh Housing Limited, and CEO Shekhar Patel, among others.
