New Delhi, February 19: Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary. He emphasized that Shivaji Maharaj united various communities to form a formidable army dedicated to the protection of the nation and its culture. Such unwavering determination, unmatched courage, and extraordinary strategy are rarely seen in history.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, Amit Shah stated, “Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who pledged to establish Hindavi Swaraj at a young age, dedicated his life to the protection of dharma. He ignited an immortal spirit of living and dying for one’s own religion, sovereignty, and language across the nation. He organized diverse groups into a vast army with the sole aim of safeguarding the nation and its culture. Rarely do we witness such strong willpower, indomitable courage, and incredible strategy in history. I pay my respects to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj on his birth anniversary.”

Amit Shah shared an excerpt from his speech about Shivaji Maharaj, saying, “Shivaji Maharaj embodies resolve, valor, dedication, and sacrifice. He instilled an immortal spirit of fighting for one’s own religion, sovereignty, and language throughout India. Maharashtra, once surrounded by Mughal, Nizam, and other rulers, transformed into Hindavi Swaraj in a short span. Soon, the dream of Swaraj spread from Attock to Cuttack, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, encompassing the entire country.”

He continued, “When Shivaji Maharaj was born, the entire nation was engulfed in darkness. The thought of Swaraj seemed impossible. In such an environment, a 12-year-old boy vowed to hoist the saffron flag from Sindhu to Kanyakumari. I have read about many heroes, but none matched Shivaji’s determination, courage, and ability to unite all sections of society to build an invincible army.”

Amit Shah noted, “A child, with his indomitable courage and resolve, inspired the entire nation towards Swaraj. He shattered the Mughal rule that had persisted for 200 years, liberating the country. When Shivaji Maharaj’s army reached various parts of the nation, people realized that their religion, languages, and culture had been preserved.”

He remarked that today, after 75 years of independence, India stands tall in the world. “We pledge that by the time we celebrate 100 years of independence, our country will be number one globally. This vision was laid down by Shivaji Maharaj. His final message was that the fight for Swaraj should never cease. The battle for the respect of our religion and the immortality of our language must continue. Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, this fight is progressing with great pride. It is our duty to teach and instill the character of Shivaji Maharaj in every child.”
