Mumbai, June 28: Actor Akshay Kumar recently shared insights during an exclusive interview about his role in the film ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’ He revealed that he suggested the dialogue “Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood” for the film.
In this sequel, the line is delivered by actress Jacqueline Fernandez. When asked how playing a Bhojpuri star and performing Bhojpuri songs might enhance the industry’s image, which has faced criticism for objectifying women, Kumar responded by emphasizing the significance of the dialogue he introduced.
Kumar stated, “In my opinion, Bhojpuri cinema is at a high level. If you’ve seen the film, Jacqueline has a line that says, ‘Bhojpuri is better than Hollywood.’ I suggested that dialogue. We portrayed her introduction as someone coming from London or Paris, having seen the world. When she experiences the vibrant energy and dance here, where can you find such dance in Hollywood? Bhojpuri offers a unique experience that Hollywood cannot match. Therefore, I believe Bhojpuri is superior in many ways.”
Praising the Bhojpuri industry, Kumar added, “For me, it was an honor to play a Bhojpuri character.”
The third installment of the popular franchise ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Raveena Tandon, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Johnny Lever, Aftab Shivdasani, Lara Dutta, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Daler Mehndi, Farida Jalal, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Kiran Kumar, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Vindu Dara Singh, Nawab Shah, Urvashi Rautela, Puneet Issar, Arjun Firoz Khan, the late Pankaj Dheer, Sudesh Berry, Hemant Pandey, Zakir Hussain, and Sayaji Shinde in significant roles.
