Akhilesh Yadav Meets Family of Murdered Dalit Student in Meerut, Questions Police Action

Meerut, July 11: Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav visited the family of a murdered Dalit student in Meerut on Saturday. He was accompanied by Ikra Hasan, the SP MP from Kairana. Yadav assured the family of his support in their quest for justice.

Yadav criticized the police for filing weak charges against the named suspects while imposing serious charges on the protesters demanding justice. He stated that the people of the state are no longer interested in the BJP’s speeches; they want justice.

On the social media platform ‘X’, Yadav expressed, “When those in power are out of control, what can be expected from their subordinates?” He further remarked, “The way weak charges have been filed against the named suspects in the horrific murder of Meerut’s daughter, while serious charges are levied against the protesters, is the height of injustice. More concerning is that the very police expected to deliver justice are instead perpetuating injustice and arrogance against the common people.”

Yadav pointed out that videos of the incident have circulated globally, tarnishing the image of the Uttar Pradesh police. This has embarrassed even those officers who are dedicated and sensitive to the public, always striving to perform their duties humanely.

He declared that the public will no longer tolerate this situation. Yadav stated, “The truth is that in a state where the chief openly disrespects women, especially the grieving mother of a young victim, expecting justice from the police is futile. The public is no longer in the mood to listen to BJP speeches.”
