AISA President Neha Bora Appears in SEM Court Amidst Notice Controversy
Neha Bora, president of AISA, appears in SEM Court as Delhi police provide documents related to a notice for maintaining peace.

New Delhi, October 24 (Daily Kiran) : Neha Bora, the president of the All India Students Association (AISA), arrived at the Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) Court on Saturday, following a notice related to a potential breach of peace issued by the Delhi police. The court session took place at the Mandir Marg police station, where the police presented copies of the documents that prompted the notice.
The SEM Court had previously issued a notice to Bora, questioning why she should not be required to submit a personal bond to maintain peace. This action falls under the provisions of the Indian Citizen Security Code (BNSC).
During the hearing, the court reviewed the documents linked to the notice. The next hearing is scheduled for October 28, the same day Bora is expected to formally respond to the notice.
This case is connected to the ‘Tiranga Assembly’ protest planned for October 16 in Delhi. On that day, the police had detained Bora and several others, citing tightened security measures, as the protest lacked the necessary permission from the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC).
Following this incident, the SEM issued a notice to Bora on October 17, mandating a personal bond of ₹10,000 along with a surety to ensure peace. Bora challenged this notice in the Delhi High Court, but her petition was dismissed on October 23. The court ordered that the documents used as the basis for the proceedings be made available to her.
The High Court also instructed the SEM to carefully consider all facts and available materials before issuing any final orders. The upcoming hearing on October 28 will be crucial as Bora submits her response.
