New Delhi, March 23: Air India and Air India Express will operate a total of 30 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from West Asia starting Monday. However, services on several routes will remain limited, according to an official statement from the airline.
The airline announced on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “Air India and Air India Express will collectively operate 30 scheduled and non-scheduled flights to and from the West Asia region on March 23.”
Both airlines will continue their scheduled flights to Jeddah, with a total of 10 flights between this Saudi Arabian city and India. Air India will operate one round-trip flight from Delhi and Mumbai, while Air India Express will offer flights from Bengaluru, Kozhikode, and Mangaluru.
In addition to Jeddah, Air India Express will operate four scheduled flights to and from Muscat, including flights from Delhi and Mumbai. Furthermore, it will also run four scheduled flights from Bengaluru and Kozhikode to Riyadh.
Apart from regular flights, the Air India Group will conduct 12 non-scheduled flights to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia, depending on slot availability and operational conditions.
These flights will be initiated after obtaining necessary approvals from Indian and local regulatory authorities. Special services will be provided to destinations in the UAE, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah.
Air India will operate services between Delhi and Dubai, while Air India Express will connect Delhi and Mumbai to Abu Dhabi, and Mangaluru to Sharjah.
The airline has confirmed that there will be no scheduled or charter flights to destinations such as Ras Al Khaimah and Al Ain in the UAE, Salalah in Oman, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, and to Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, and Tel Aviv.
Meanwhile, all Air India flights to and from North America, Europe, Australia, and other regions will continue as per the regular schedule.
Passengers who booked on temporarily suspended routes will have the option to rebook their travel or receive a full refund without any additional charges. Air India has advised passengers to use its website or contact customer support centers for assistance.
Passengers of Air India Express, especially those traveling from UAE stations, will also have the option to rebook on other commercial flights without any extra fees.
The airline has also made rebooking available through its digital assistant on WhatsApp.
The airline group stated that it is directly contacting affected passengers and exploring the possibility of operating additional charter flights to West Asian destinations based on operational viability.
