Aftab Shivdasani Remembers ‘Kasoor’ on Its 25th Anniversary

Mumbai, February 2: Actor Aftab Shivdasani took a moment to reflect on his film ‘Kasoor’ as it completed 25 years since its release. The film, which came early in his career, had a lasting impact on him and shaped his journey in the film industry.

Sharing old memories on Instagram, Aftab expressed his gratitude to everyone who supported him during those times. He posted the popular song ‘Mohabbat Ho Na Jaye’ from the movie along with a heartfelt message. “This beautiful experience has completed 25 years. ‘Kasoor’ is a film I will always cherish. It taught me a lot, especially after my first film ‘Mast’. Getting the chance to play such a complex role at a young age was priceless. I am deeply thankful to Mukesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt for guiding me through this new phase,” he wrote.

Aftab also acknowledged his co-star Lisa Ray, describing working with her as a joy since both were navigating challenging roles. He thanked the legendary music composer duo Nadeem-Shravan for creating songs that remain popular even today. Most importantly, he expressed appreciation for the audience who have continued to love the film over the years.

‘Kasoor’ was Lisa Ray’s debut film and brought her considerable recognition. However, despite some success, she later chose to leave the film industry. Lisa revealed that she was often seen only as a beautiful model rather than a serious actress. Still, the film proved to be a meaningful milestone for both Lisa Ray and Aftab Shivdasani.
