Adani Total Gas Reduces Additional Gas Prices by 30% for Industries

Ahmedabad, March 15: Adani Total Gas Limited announced on Sunday that it has lowered the price of additional natural gas supplied to some industrial customers by 30%. This decision comes amid ongoing supply disruptions linked to the crisis in West Asia, which have softened upstream gas prices.

The company stated that the price of additional gas has been reduced from ₹119.90 per standard cubic meter (SCM) to ₹82.95. This new rate will take effect from 6:00 AM on March 16.

As a joint venture between the Adani Group and France’s Total Energies, Adani Total Gas aims to ensure stable and fair distribution of gas during the current supply crisis while passing on the benefits of reduced gas prices to its customers.

Due to ongoing conflicts in West Asia, shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has been disrupted, affecting India’s LNG supply. As a result, the company previously requested commercial and industrial users to reduce their gas consumption by up to 40% of contracted amounts.

Customers using gas beyond this limit are charged according to market rates for the additional volume. While the price of additional gas has been lowered, other terms related to the supply of this gas remain unchanged.

In a message sent to its users, the company noted that the price adjustment considers the recent decline in gas prices while maintaining system stability during current supply disruptions.

Additionally, the company has sought clarification from GAIL (India) Limited regarding the 80% supply to industrial customers under the current order. Earlier this month, despite supply challenges, the company decided not to increase prices for CNG and piped cooking gas supplied to households.

Approximately 70% of the gas supplied by Adani Total Gas is sourced domestically, utilized for CNG vehicles and piped natural gas in homes. The remaining 30% is imported LNG, primarily supplied to commercial and industrial users.
