AAP Faces Setback as Abhinandita Mathur Resigns from Party

Abhinandita Mathur announces her resignation from AAP, citing inactivity in recent months and expressing gratitude for her experiences.

New Delhi, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Abhinandita Dayal Mathur, a former advisor to Delhi’s ex-Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, has officially announced her resignation from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). In a post on the social media platform X, she clarified that she has not been actively involved in the party for several months and currently holds no position within it.

In her statement, Mathur expressed, “I have been receiving constant calls from the media, so I feel it’s important to clarify my position. With mixed emotions, I want to announce that I am no longer a part of the Aam Aadmi Party.” She added, “I will always be grateful for the opportunities I received, the wonderful people I met, and the friendships I formed.”

Reflecting on her political journey, Mathur acknowledged the learning experiences gained from the party’s leadership and volunteers. She noted, “I learned a lot from the party’s leadership and its selfless volunteers. I also realized how tough and challenging politics can be.”

Mathur emphasized her absence from active politics in recent months, stating, “I am no longer in any position within the party and do not represent AAP in any capacity. I remember my time with the Aam Aadmi Party with gratitude and respect.”

Her resignation follows that of Priyanka Kakkar, a former national spokesperson for AAP, who recently joined the Congress Party. Kakkar, who became a prominent voice for AAP after joining in 2013, explained her decision by stating her desire to work towards a greener, cleaner, progressive, and safer Delhi after more than a decade in politics.
