
Beijing, May 8: The 139th Canton Fair successfully concluded on May 5, 2026. This year’s event showed significant improvements compared to previous sessions, particularly in the categories of ‘new, green, and intelligent’ products, participation from foreign buyers, and the presence of major international companies.
The fair attracted businesses from around the world with an open and collaborative approach. It showcased China’s manufacturing capabilities through modern technologies and innovations. Exceptional services and business facilities strengthened global trade partnerships, reflecting China’s commitment to enhancing the strength, vitality, and high-level openness of its foreign trade.
According to statistics, a total of 314,000 foreign buyers from 220 countries and regions attended the fair. This marks a 1.1% increase compared to the 138th Canton Fair. Notably, there was a significant rise in buyers from the United States, Australia, and Canada, while participation from countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative remained stable. The event also saw participation from 407 major purchasing companies and 154 foreign trade organizations.
During this session, export contracts worth $25.7 billion were finalized. Many foreign buyers have also planned factory visits for further collaboration.
A total of 4.65 million products were showcased at the fair, with ‘new, green, and intelligent’ products accounting for over 20% of the total. Additionally, 665 new product launch events were held, and more than 60% of the products featured innovative technologies.
The Canton Fair app was utilized by 553,000 users, while 317,000 people experienced booth-level navigation services. In the exhibition area for trade services, 210 institutions participated, welcoming over 120,000 visitors. These institutions provided services related to the entire business lifecycle of enterprises.
During the fair, 38 supply-purchase matchmaking programs, 12 exhibition exploration live streams, 25 Middle East-focused live streams, and 9 special topic forums were organized. These activities helped companies reach new markets and better identify business opportunities.
The 140th Canton Fair is scheduled to take place in Guangzhou, China, from October 15 to November 4, 2026.
