Lucknow, August 15: In a recent event marking the launch of the Uttar Pradesh Police song “Khaki Ka Sitara,” Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath emphasized that security is the foundation of good governance. He stated that creating a safe environment is crucial to achieving the goals of effective governance. Over the past nine years, the image of Uttar Pradesh has transformed, with security playing a pivotal role in this change.
CM Yogi noted that where there is valor, there is also sensitivity. In contrast, an atmosphere of cowardice breeds looting, insecurity, and chaos. During the event held at Lok Bhawan, he remarked that terrorism, riots, and Naxalism are signs of cowardice, as those who cannot confront directly resort to attacks from behind. The government maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward crime and criminals, pledging to take all necessary actions.
The UP Police have established various models to achieve these objectives. The state has remained free from riots and curfews over the last nine years. CM Yogi referred to an incident in Farrukhabad where 22 children were trapped within the range of detonators. He praised the UP Police for their bravery and capability in safely rescuing the children while neutralizing the criminal in a confrontation.
The Chief Minister highlighted that he closely monitored the operation, ensuring the safety of the children. Such operations showcase the police’s courage and commitment to public safety. He recalled a time when criminals overpowered the police, leading many to believe they could intimidate the UP Police due to their numbers. However, that arrogance has been shattered.
There has been a significant change in the police’s operational style and capability. Now, criminals must understand that no one is above the law. CM Yogi recounted an incident in Lucknow where an individual attempted to drag a police officer on the hood of his car. He asserted that such audacity is a thing of the past. Anyone daring to commit such acts will face consequences, regardless of their connections or status. The law will hold everyone accountable, and those who challenge it will pay the price.
