Gopalganj, May 17: A young man in Bihar paid the ultimate price for visiting his married girlfriend. The incident occurred in the Mohammadpur police station area of Gopalganj district. The police have launched an investigation into the murder.
The victim has been identified as Badal Singh, a 23-year-old resident of Jakhra village in the Motihari district. Reports indicate that Badal visited his girlfriend’s home late Saturday night. Her family caught the couple in the act and allegedly beat him to death. Upon receiving the news, the Mohammadpur police arrived at the scene and sent the body for post-mortem at the Gopalganj Sadar Hospital.
According to sources, Badal had gone to the woman’s house at her invitation. The police have detained both the girlfriend and her mother for questioning. The accused girlfriend is married and has a child. Due to ongoing issues with her husband, she was currently living at her parental home.
An FSL team has been called to the scene to collect evidence scientifically. The police stated that they are investigating all angles of the case. Initially, the romantic relationship is being considered the primary motive for the murder, but a full disclosure will only be possible after the investigation concludes.
SDPO Rajesh Kumar mentioned on Sunday that the police are thoroughly examining the case and expect to make a breakthrough soon, including the arrest of the suspects.
