Komal began her campaign with a victory over Canadian wrestler Ella Marie Finding, followed by an 8-3 win against Moldova’s Madalina Priscakari.

India was unable to field wrestlers in the 50 kg, 55 kg, 57 kg, and 62 kg categories, as well as in Greco-Roman styles at 60 kg, 77 kg, 82 kg, 97 kg, and 130 kg due to visa issues, which stemmed from the participants being under 20 years old and lacking full-time employment.

Earlier in the championship, Worldjeet Ramchandra More secured India’s first silver medal in the Greco-Roman category. The two-time bronze medalist faced a narrow defeat, losing 12-13 to Georgia’s Koba Karumidze in the men’s 55 kg Greco-Roman final.
