Lucknow, August 31: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of Janmashtami. He emphasized that the life of Lord Krishna conveys messages of truth, righteousness, action, and public welfare. According to him, the childhood tales of Lord Krishna are not merely delightful stories but are imbued with profound spiritual significance.
In his message, the Chief Minister called for the promotion of social harmony, collective cooperation, and a spirit of public welfare. He wrote, “Dear esteemed residents of our state, at the midnight of Bhadrapada Krishna Ashtami, when Nandalala was born in the prison of Mathura, the light of truth and righteousness emerged amidst the darkness of falsehood and injustice.”
The tales of Lord Krishna’s childhood, such as the stealing of butter, reflect simplicity and innocence, while his relationships with the gopis embody love and harmony. The victory over the serpent Kaliya symbolizes the triumph of righteousness over adharma. On this auspicious occasion, he wished everyone a heartfelt Janmashtami (September 4, 2026).
Yogi Adityanath remarked that the life of Lord Krishna teaches us that the strength of society lies in collective cooperation. By lifting the Govardhan Hill, he conveyed a message of protecting nature, livestock, and agriculture, as well as promoting social unity. From Vrindavan to Barsana and the loving memories of Nandgaon, the land of Braj continues to cherish that divine consciousness in every particle.
Lord Krishna is not a symbol of elitism but of inclusivity. He stood with every section of society, being both the king of Dwarka and a dear friend to Sudama. His pursuit of knowledge at the ashram of Sandipani and his friendship with Sudama illustrate that true relationships are built on affection, not status or wealth. This spirit of inclusivity, equality, and warmth is essential for today’s society.
He added that the life of Lord Krishna inspires the core essence of a welfare-oriented governance. Resistance against injustice, protection of dharma, safeguarding the weak, and public welfare have been the main tenets of his philosophy. With this spirit, our government is working to ensure respect and security for those at the bottom of the social ladder. Efforts are underway for a poverty-free Uttar Pradesh, providing skilled youth with jobs, supporting farmers, and offering equal opportunities for daughters.
Yogi stated that the path of action, knowledge, and duty shown by Lord Krishna in the Gita is not limited to any one era. It serves as guidance for every challenge in daily life. Selfless action, commitment to truth, and a spirit of public welfare keep us vigilant towards our duties. The CM emphasized that Uttar Pradesh is the sacred land of Lord Krishna’s tales and messages. Mathura, Gokul, Vrindavan, Govardhan, Barsana, and Nandgaon are vibrant centers of our eternal cultural consciousness.
Let us resolve this Janmashtami to preserve our heritage, promote social harmony, and build a developed and proud Uttar Pradesh, embodying the messages of truth, righteousness, action, and public welfare in our lives.
