Yashasvi Jaiswal Achieves Milestone with Special Century for RR in IPL 2026

Mumbai, April 8: Young left-handed opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is recognized as a suitable player across all formats. He is a regular member of the Indian Test squad, but his position in ODIs and T20s remains unstable despite his impressive performances. Undeterred by this, Jaiswal showcases his talent whenever given the opportunity.

In the IPL 2026 match against the Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, Jaiswal did just that, setting a remarkable record.

During the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a blistering 77 runs off just 32 balls, hitting 10 fours and 4 sixes. With his fourth six, he completed 100 sixes for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the IPL.

Before Jaiswal, only three RR batsmen had achieved this feat. Former captain Sanju Samson leads with 192 sixes, followed by wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler with 135, and Shane Watson, who played a crucial role in securing RR’s first title in 2008, with 109 sixes.

Sanju Samson is now part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2026. Jos Buttler joined the Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025, while Shane Watson, who has retired, is serving as an assistant coach for KKR in IPL 2026.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has been playing for the Rajasthan Royals since IPL 2020. In 70 matches, he has scored 2,336 runs in 69 innings, including 2 centuries and 17 half-centuries. During this period, he has hit 277 fours and 100 sixes, maintaining an average of 36.50 and a strike rate of 153.58.
