
Beijing, May 13: Chinese President Xi Jinping met with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon on May 12 during his visit to Beijing.
During the meeting, Xi emphasized that mutual support is the essence of China-Tajikistan relations. Regardless of changes in the external environment, China and Tajikistan will always remain good neighbors, friends, and partners.
The signing of a friendly relations and cooperation treaty will reflect the high-level political trust between the two nations. This agreement will serve as a strong guarantee for the enduring friendship between China and Tajikistan for generations to come. Xi expressed a desire to build a community with a shared future, ensuring greater benefits for both peoples.
Xi stated that China will continue to support Tajikistan in its development path, aligning with its national status, while safeguarding its independence, sovereignty, and security. This year marks the first year of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. Simultaneously, Tajikistan is making efforts to enhance its national development strategy before 2030. Both sides should strengthen cooperation in areas such as the Belt and Road Initiative, economic collaboration, implementation of key projects, cultural exchanges, and law enforcement and security.
Rahmon expressed Tajikistan’s intention to strengthen practical cooperation with China and praised China’s efforts in resolving international political issues.
