
Beijing, April 25: Chinese President Xi Jinping sent separate congratulatory messages on Friday to Romuald Wadagni and Nizar Mohammed Saeed Amidi, who were elected as Presidents of the Republic of Benin and the Republic of Iraq, respectively.
In his message to President Romuald Wadagni, Xi emphasized the longstanding friendship between China and Benin. He noted that in recent years, political mutual trust between the two nations has deepened. Both sides have consistently supported each other on core interests and major concerns. Significant progress has been made in friendly cooperation across various sectors, leading to improved welfare for the people of both countries.
Xi also expressed his commitment to the development of China-Benin relations. He looks forward to working with President Wadagni to implement the outcomes of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum’s Beijing Summit and elevate the China-Benin strategic partnership to new heights.
In a similar message to President Nizar Mohammed Saeed Amidi, Xi highlighted the deep-rooted traditional friendship between China and Iraq. He pointed out that political mutual trust has been continuously strengthened in recent years. Both nations have provided ongoing support regarding each other’s core interests and major concerns, yielding positive results in energy, trade, and other areas of cooperation.
Xi reiterated his dedication to advancing China-Iraq relations and expressed eagerness to collaborate with President Amidi to elevate the China-Iraq strategic partnership, ensuring greater benefits for the people of both countries.
