Women in Uttar Pradesh: Pioneers of Rural Economy and New Indias Destiny, Says CM Yogi

CM Yogi Adityanath emphasizes the transformative role of women in Uttar Pradeshs rural economy on Sharadiya Navratri.

Lucknow, October 14 (Daily Kiran) : Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to Maa Kushmanda on the fourth day of Sharadiya Navratri, highlighting her as a symbol of creation, energy, and prosperity. He conveyed to the people of Uttar Pradesh the importance of worshiping this deity, stating that where women receive power and opportunity, scarcity transforms into hard work, which in turn leads to self-reliance and prosperity.

In a post on X, Adityanath remarked that women in Uttar Pradesh are no longer just beneficiaries of development but are becoming key creators of the rural economy and architects of a new India. He noted that prior to 2017, women lacked opportunities, resources, and supportive government policies.

The Chief Minister stated that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the state’s double-engine government is paving new paths for self-reliance for women in villages. Initiatives like BC Sakhi are enhancing banking services in rural areas. Programs like Lakhpati Didi are redefining economic independence, while Drone Didi is leading the way in modern agricultural techniques. Through self-help groups and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), opportunities for livelihood, entrepreneurship, and agriculture-based employment for rural women are expanding.

Adityanath emphasized that women are not just the foundation of family prosperity; they are now driving the rural economy and leading the development journey of a new Uttar Pradesh. He noted that when women in villages thrive, Uttar Pradesh will truly become prosperous and empowered. Connecting rural women to economic activities is a crucial step towards strengthening the state’s economy.

He added that women’s participation in banking services, modern agricultural technology, and self-employment is creating new livelihood opportunities in villages. Through self-help groups, women are advancing collective efforts into entrepreneurship, enhancing the economic capacity of rural families and strengthening women’s involvement in decision-making processes.
