
Beijing, May 9: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held discussions on May 8 in Beijing with Emmanuel Bonne, the foreign affairs advisor to the French President.
Wang Yi emphasized that the strategic guidance from the leaders of both nations reflects the high level and uniqueness of their bilateral relations. As permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and significant independent nations, China and France share a crucial responsibility for maintaining international peace, stability, and development.
It is anticipated that France will take concrete actions to adhere to the One China principle. France is also expected to encourage the European Union to develop a correct and rational understanding of China, promoting practical and open economic and trade policies with the nation.
Bonne reiterated that France follows a One China policy and looks forward to collaborating with China to seek constructive solutions to global crises. He expressed France’s readiness to play an active role in advancing Europe-China dialogue and cooperation.
