Vivo V30 Users Begin Receiving OriginOS 6 Update Based on Android 16

Mumbai, March 15: Vivo V30 users are now receiving the Android 16-based OriginOS 6 update, which may be the device’s final major upgrade. This latest update brings a host of visual enhancements and numerous features throughout the system.

While the company has not officially announced the rollout, several Vivo V30 users have confirmed the update on the official forum, as noted by Ytechb. Currently, the update is being distributed to testers through the OriginOS 6 trial program, with the firmware version PD2323JF_EX_A_16.2.6.7.W30. It is expected to expand to all users soon.

The OriginOS 6 update is substantial, with a size of approximately 4.5GB for the Vivo V30. It is advisable to download such large update packages over a stable Wi-Fi connection.

If you own a Vivo V30, check for the update in the System updates section of the Settings app. If it’s not available, you can apply for the trial version to access it sooner. To do this, navigate to Settings > System update > settings/gear icon > Trial version > Update now > Download and install. Ensure your device is charged to at least 40% before proceeding with the installation, and consider backing up important data for added safety.

After upgrading to OriginOS 6, users will enjoy a refreshed design, redesigned icons, and a variety of visual changes. The new system is more feature-rich, customizable, and smoother than Funtouch OS. Highlights of the update include Origin Island, which provides real-time updates from supported elements and system features without needing to open them, along with multitasking support. The redesigned Control Center, new clock styles, widgets, and enhanced security features are among the many upgrades included. The complete changelog can be found here.

This may be the last major upgrade for the Vivo V30. The device was launched in 2024 with Android 14 and is expected to receive a maximum of two OS updates. Although Vivo has not officially confirmed the update policy for the Vivo V30, the V30 Pro is expected to receive only two OS updates, suggesting a similar fate for the standard model. Even if Android 16 is the final upgrade, security updates will continue for some time.
