New Delhi, April 28: Vinod Bansal, a leader of the Vishva Hindu Parishad, has expressed strong opposition to the incident in Haryana where students had their kalawa cut during an examination. He described the event as alarming and called for immediate action against such occurrences.
In an interview with a news agency, Bansal stated, “On Sunday, the Haryana Public Service Commission examination took place. Outside the examination center, a disturbing scene unfolded where a young woman was cutting the kalawa (thread) from students’ wrists with scissors. The severed threads were being trampled underfoot, creating a pile of discarded kalawas. I was deeply saddened to see the images and videos of this situation. We have contacted the local administration regarding this matter. Although this practice has been ultimately halted, such incidents are neither new nor limited to one location. Similar occurrences continue to emerge from various parts of the country.”
He further emphasized that the ongoing attacks on symbols of Hindu faith are unfortunate, concerning, and condemnable. There is an urgent need to put a stop to such acts. Bansal expressed hope that the Haryana government will investigate and take action against those responsible. He added that examination agencies, boards, and universities across the country must ensure that such harassment does not occur before exams, as it adversely affects students’ morale.
Previously, Bansal had commented on love jihad incidents at TCS in Nashik, stating that the increasing organized jihadist activities in nearly every sector of social life in the country reflect a distorted mindset. The love jihad conspiracy exposed in Nashik is part of this troubling trend. Numerous incidents, including illegal occupations of forest land, public land, military and railway land, desecration of food items, and the continuous harassment of Hindu families in predominantly Muslim areas, stem from this mentality.
