New Delhi, May 13: The Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) has strongly condemned the alleged anti-Sanatana remarks made by Udhayanidhi Stalin in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. The VHP has demanded the immediate removal of these comments from the assembly proceedings.
VHP’s Joint General Secretary Surendra Jain referred to a statement by the organization’s International President Alok Kumar, asserting that Stalin’s remarks are against democratic and constitutional values. He questioned whether similar comments could be made against any other religion.
Alok Kumar stated that the repeated disrespect towards Sanatana and Hindu beliefs is extremely unfortunate. He insisted that such statements from the opposition leader should be promptly removed from the assembly records. Kumar highlighted the irony that the family and political party benefiting from Sanatana traditions, temples, and the Hindu community are the same ones advocating for its eradication.
The VHP leader pointed out that the Tamil Nadu government receives significant revenue from the state’s famous temples and religious institutions linked to Sanatana traditions. He argued that displaying an anti-Sanatana mindset undermines the very system that provides them with benefits.
He urged the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to clarify whether his government supports the respect for Sanatana traditions and Hindu beliefs or endorses divisive and anti-Hindu statements.
The VHP has called for the immediate removal of such objectionable comments from the assembly records and for necessary measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Surendra Jain emphasized that Sanatana Hinduism is not just the cultural soul of Tamil Nadu but of all India. He noted that history shows that many ideologies attempting to erase Sanatana have perished, yet Sanatana continues to guide society with its faith, strength, and breadth.
