Varanasi, September 8 (Daily Kiran) : The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a significant increase in the honorarium for Anganwadi workers, raising it from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000, while assistants will see their pay rise from ₹4,000 to ₹6,000. Minister Anil Rajbhar attributed this enhancement to the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, expressing that it has uplifted the spirits of these workers.
Rajbhar noted that the increase reflects the government’s commitment to supporting Anganwadi sisters and assistants. “Since our government took office, we have quadrupled their honorarium, leading to a surge in morale among them,” he stated, emphasizing the positive atmosphere surrounding this decision.
In addition to the honorarium hike for Anganwadi workers, the government has also raised pay for education friends and cooks, and established a minimum wage for outsourced employees. Rajbhar mentioned that significant decisions, including the implementation of reservations in this sector, have been made to create a better work environment for employees, enhancing their contributions to the state’s development.
Targeting the opposition Samajwadi Party, Rajbhar remarked that merely changing their façade does not alter their character. He challenged SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, stating that the youth of Uttar Pradesh remember the disruptions caused by the Samajwadi student union between 2012 and 2017, which included troubling incidents for Dalits. “Today, the SP is pretending for power,” he asserted.
Rajbhar further criticized the previous government for altering district names dedicated to Dalit leaders shortly after taking office. He highlighted the restoration of services for gardeners, sanitation workers, and security personnel that had been cut off. Under the BJP government, efforts are now being made to beautify parks named after Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, contrasting this with the SP’s previous actions.
“The dual character of the SP and its leaders is unacceptable,” he concluded, reinforcing the BJP’s commitment to honoring the legacy of Dalit leaders in Uttar Pradesh.
