Uttar Pradesh Government Takes Firm Stance on Industrial Development Delays

Lucknow, May 18: The Uttar Pradesh government is adopting a strict approach to expedite industrial establishment on allocated plots. Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal directed officials during a meeting of the state-level Industry Friend Committee to ensure industries are set up within the stipulated time across the state, including Noida and Greater Noida.

He emphasized that action must be taken against investors who cause delays. The aim of allocating industrial plots is not just to provide land but to initiate production quickly. This initiative is expected to boost investment, create new job opportunities, and strengthen industrial growth in the state.

Goyal instructed officials to regularly review the progress on all allocated plots and to seek explanations from projects that have not commenced work. The meeting also highlighted the importance of timely provision of all necessary permits, infrastructure, and administrative support to investors for setting up industries.

He reiterated that there should be no unnecessary obstacles in the industrial establishment process. All departments must enhance coordination to resolve pending issues within the designated timeframe.

Furthermore, Goyal urged officials to take effective steps to further strengthen the investor-friendly environment in the state. The meeting reviewed the progress of compliance simplification reforms under the Government of India’s ‘Regulation Phase-1’ initiative, which involves seven departments and 23 priority sectors.

Invest UP presented updated information related to the BRAP, DBRAP, and Regulation Phase-2 roadmaps at the state and district levels. Additionally, various issues concerning water allocation, land mapping encroachments, discrepancies in master plans, and PSP projects were discussed in detail.
