Lucknow, May 15: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards revitalizing the state’s cultural and religious heritage. It has approved 23 projects aimed at strengthening, beautifying, and developing Ramleela grounds across various districts. The first installment for these projects has already been released, and the tender process for construction is progressing swiftly.
Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh stated that the government’s goal is not merely to construct Ramleela grounds but to develop them into modern and attractive centers for cultural events. He has instructed the executing agencies to ensure that all construction work meets quality standards and is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
The government has sanctioned projects worth millions of rupees in several districts, including Bhadohi, Lucknow, Hardoi, Gorakhpur, Pratapgarh, Rampur, Ghaziabad, Fatehpur, Gonda, Unnao, Bijnor, Hamirpur, Farrukhabad, and Kushinagar.
For the development of the Ramleela ground in Khajni, Gorakhpur, approximately ₹2.79 crore has been approved. The Bilaspur Ramleela ground in Rampur will receive about ₹2.99 crore, while ₹3.39 crore has been allocated for beautification at the Maharaj Paramhans Bariyadi Ramleela site in Gonda.
Projects also include the development of the Aishbagh Ramleela ground in Lucknow, construction of boundary walls for several village Ramleela grounds in the Mohanlalganj area, and the reconstruction of the Shri Ramleela stage at Geeta Vatika in Gorakhpur. Special emphasis has been placed on the restoration and beautification of historic Ramleela sites in Fatehpur, Unnao, and Bhadohi.
The minister noted that the responsibility for projects in seven districts has been assigned to the CNDS organization, while other projects will be managed by the UP Project Corporation Limited. The government believes that the completion of these projects will not only provide a new identity to religious and cultural events but also boost local tourism and employment.
