USA Announces Squad for T20 World Cup 2026, Shubham Ranjane Set for Debut

The United States of America (USA) has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. Shubham Ranjane, who has previously represented Mumbai in Indian domestic cricket, is set to make his T20 World Cup debut. The tournament will begin on February 7, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka.

Placed in Group A, USA will face tough competition from Pakistan, Namibia, the Netherlands, and India. To prepare for the tournament conditions, the team has conducted an extended training camp in Sri Lanka.

USA will kick off its campaign on February 7 in Mumbai against India. The team will then take on Pakistan on February 10, the Netherlands on February 13, and Namibia on February 15.

Out of the 15 players selected, 10 had featured in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team is led by captain Monank Patel. After playing four One Day Internationals for USA, Shubham Ranjane looks forward to debuting in the shortest format at the international level. Along with Ranjane, Mohammed Mohsin and Shehan Jayasuriya are also expected to make their international T20 debuts for USA.

This will be USA’s second participation in the T20 World Cup. In the 2024 edition, the team caused a major upset by defeating the 2009 champions Pakistan.

Last year, the International Cricket Council (ICC) had suspended USA Cricket on September 23 over serious breaches in membership criteria. However, the ICC clarified that players would not be penalised due to administrative and financial turmoil, ensuring that the USA team continues to participate in ICC events under the global body’s framework.

USA T20 World Cup 2026 Squad: Monank Patel (Captain), Jesse Singh (Vice-Captain), Andries Gous, Shehan Jayasuriya, Milind Kumar, Shayan Jahangir, Saiteja Mukkamala, Sanjay Krishnamurthi, Harmit Singh, Nosthush Kenjige, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Saurabh Netravalkar, Ali Khan, Mohammed Mohsin, and Shubham Ranjane.
