Washington, March 16 ( /Sputnik) The US Senate adopted a resolution condemning Russia and Russian President Vladimir Putin over the military operation in Ukraine. The Senate passed the resolution by a voice vote on Tuesday. Russia started a special military operation in Ukraine on February 24 in response to calls from the Donetsk and Luhansk people’s republics for protection against intensifying attacks by Ukrainian troops. /SPUTNIK ACL0707
