Ottawa, March 15 : In response to Canada’s sanctions, Russia on Tuesday banned Prime Minister Justin Trudeau from entering Moscow. Besides the PM, Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly and Defense Minister Anita Anand have also been added in the list, the Russian Foreign Ministry tweeted. These individuals, as of March 15, are on a “black list”, CNN reported. Earlier, Canada had imposed sanctions against 15 Russian government officials in response to Moscow’s ongoing military operation in Ukraine, the country’s foreign ministry said. “These new measures impose restrictions on 15 Russian officials who enabled and supported President [Vladimir] Putin’s choice to invade a peaceful and sovereign country,” Global Affairs Canada said in a statement. The latest round of sanctions targets deputy commander in chief of the navy Vladimir Kasatonov, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov, Federal Guard Service Director Dmitry Kochnev, and Ministry of Defense spokesman Igor Konashenkov among others, Sputnik added.
