UP Police Bharti 2025: 23,763 Vacancies Announced, Agniveers to Get 20% Quota and Age Relaxation

Lucknow: In a landmark move aimed at expanding employment opportunities and supporting ex-Agniveers, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced a massive recruitment drive for the state police force in 2025. A total of 23,763 vacancies will be filled across Constable and Sub-Inspector (SI) posts, with several major policy updates providing added relief to aspirants, including age relaxation and reservation for Agniveers.

23,763 Posts to Be Filled in 2025

The recruitment will include 19,220 posts for Constables and 4,543 for Sub-Inspectors, according to government officials. The recruitment process will begin shortly, and an official notification from the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board (UPPRPB) is expected soon. Aspirants are advised to keep all essential documents ready, including educational certificates and identity proofs, to avoid any last-minute hassles.

3-Year Age Relaxation for SI Aspirants

In a much-needed relief for thousands of job seekers, the government has approved a 3-year age relaxation for SI recruitment. This applies to the recruitment years 2020-21 through 2024-25, allowing candidates who might have crossed the previous upper age limit to apply. This move is expected to benefit approximately 5 lakh candidates, many of whom had been disqualified earlier due to age restrictions.

20% Reservation for Agniveers

In a first for any Indian state, Uttar Pradesh will offer 20% reservation to Agniveers under its police recruitment process. This applies to vacancies in constables, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary), mounted police, and firemen categories. Previously, other states had limited such reservation to 10%.

Additionally, Agniveers will also get a 3-year age relaxation, making them more eligible for permanent government positions after completing their four-year service under the Agnipath scheme.
