
New Delhi, March 9: The UAE’s air defense systems recently executed a significant operation by intercepting and destroying an Iranian UAV (drone) that was attempting to target the nation. This incident underscores the UAE’s unwavering commitment to its security and sovereignty, with the armed forces always prepared to address any potential threats.
A video released via the UAE Ministry of Defense’s official social media platform showcased the air defense system successfully targeting and downing the Iranian UAV. Following this operation, the Ministry emphasized that there can be no compromise regarding the nation’s security and sovereignty. The Iranian UAV was actively attempting to strike the country when it was neutralized. The UAE armed forces remain vigilant and ready to thwart any threats.
The Ministry of Defense reported that in response to attacks from the United States and Israel, Iran has initiated retaliatory actions against neighboring countries. Recent assaults on Sunday have resulted in the deaths of four individuals in the UAE, including nationals from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh.
According to the Ministry, the four deceased were citizens of Pakistan, Nepal, and Bangladesh. Additionally, 112 individuals from various countries, including Emiratis, Egyptians, Sudanese, Ethiopians, Filipinos, Pakistanis, Iranians, Indians, Bangladeshis, Sri Lankans, Azerbaijanis, Yemenis, Ugandans, Eritreans, Lebanese, Afghans, Bahrainis, Comorians, and Turks, sustained minor or partial injuries.
As of now, the UAE has faced a total of 238 ballistic missiles, 1,422 drones, and 8 cruise missiles. Of these, 1,342 were intercepted, while 80 drones fell within the country’s territory. On Sunday alone, the nation detected 17 ballistic missiles and 117 drones, successfully intercepting 16 missiles and 113 drones, with one missile and four drones crashing into the sea.
Due to the deteriorating situation, the Indian Embassy in the UAE has issued an advisory, urging citizens to refrain from posting videos or photos of any incidents on social media platforms. The advisory stated, “UAE authorities have warned that anyone filming at incident sites or restricted areas, including airports, without permission will face strict action.”
The Indian Embassy further advised, “To ensure your safety and avoid legal repercussions, all Indian citizens are strongly encouraged to adhere to these guidelines. When you hear a warning alert, promptly move to a safe location and remain there until the alert for your area is lifted. Avoid attempting to take photos or record videos outside.”
