Washington, March 10: A significant revelation has emerged amid the ongoing military confrontation between the United States and Iran. According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), the U.S. has launched attacks on over 5,000 Iranian targets within the first ten days of the conflict. This operation aims to weaken Iran’s security infrastructure and military capabilities.
The military campaign, named “Operation Epic Fury,” commenced on February 28 at 1:15 AM. It involves extensive use of the U.S. Air Force, Navy, and missile systems.
CENTCOM reported that this operation was initiated under the directive of the U.S. President. All targets associated with Iran’s security apparatus or those posing an immediate threat are being targeted.
So far, more than 5,000 military installations in Iran have been struck. Additionally, approximately 50 naval vessels belonging to Iran have been damaged or destroyed during the first ten days of the war.
The operation employs numerous advanced weapons and aircraft. Long-range B-1, B-2 stealth, and B-52 bombers are conducting continuous strikes. F-15, F-16, F-18, F-22 stealth fighters, and F-35 stealth jets are also deployed for the mission.
Moreover, A-10 attack aircraft and EA-18G electronic attack planes are integral to this campaign.
Various intelligence and surveillance aircraft support the operation, including U-2 Dragon Lady, RC-135 reconnaissance planes, and P-8 maritime patrol aircraft. These planes monitor Iranian military activities and provide information on potential targets.
Drones play a crucial role in this operation as well. The U.S. is utilizing MQ-9 Reaper drones and low-cost unmanned combat aerial systems (UCAVs) for both surveillance and strikes.
To ensure the safety of its bases and allied nations, the U.S. has deployed Patriot interceptor missile systems and THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) anti-ballistic missile systems.
Naval strength is also a key component of this operation. Nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and guided-missile destroyers are supporting the campaign from the sea, while refueling and supply ships facilitate long-range operations.
For logistical support, C-17 Globemaster and C-130 cargo planes are consistently delivering weapons, equipment, and essential supplies to sustain this extensive military campaign.
According to CENTCOM, the targeted installations include command and control centers, headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), intelligence sites, and integrated air defense systems.
Additionally, strikes have been conducted on ballistic missile sites, anti-ship missile locations, Iranian naval vessels and submarines, military communication networks, and facilities related to ballistic missile and drone production.
The U.S. military has also indicated that counter-drone systems, airborne early warning aircraft, communication relay platforms, and counter-rocket, artillery, and mortar defense systems are being utilized, showcasing the scale of this operation.
CENTCOM’s operational summary also noted that certain specialized capabilities are being employed, which cannot be disclosed publicly, suggesting the use of classified technologies and systems.
