Two U.S. Fighter Jets Collide During Idaho Air Show

Boise, May 18: During an air show at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, two U.S. fighter jets collided mid-air. According to local media reports, authorities immediately placed the air base on lockdown and canceled all remaining scheduled events.

The incident occurred when two EA-18G Growler jets crashed approximately two miles away after colliding. Emergency teams were dispatched to the scene, where thick black smoke was observed rising from the crash site.

Videos circulating on social media captured the moment the military aircraft collided and separated in the air. Moments later, four parachutes were seen, indicating that the crew members had successfully ejected from the planes.

The U.S. Navy later confirmed that all four crew members aboard both jets managed to eject safely.

According to the local newspaper Idaho Statesman, an announcer at the event informed the audience that all crew members had exited the aircraft safely before the incident occurred.

Following the collision, all remaining activities were canceled as a precaution. The Mountain Home Police also confirmed that the base remained on lockdown while security and emergency teams engaged in rescue operations.

The Gunfighter Skies Air Show was held this weekend after an eight-year hiatus, attracting thousands of spectators eager to witness military aircraft displays and aerobatic performances.

Currently, officials have not confirmed the cause of the accident, and an investigation is ongoing.
