Two Government Officials Arrested for Bribery in Rajasthans Mundawar

Rajasthans ACB arrests two officials for allegedly accepting a ₹65,000 bribe linked to public works contracts.

Mundawar, October 29 (Daily Kiran) : The Rajasthan Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested two government officials in Mundawar for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹65,000. The officials, identified as Sanjay Kumar Yadav, a development officer, and Ritik Kumar Singh, a junior assistant, were caught red-handed during a trap operation conducted by the ACB’s Bhiwadi unit.

According to ACB Director General Govind Gupta, the arrests stemmed from a complaint alleging that Yadav was soliciting bribes in exchange for completing entries in the measurement book related to cleaning and pipeline construction work done by the complainant’s firm. The firm had been awarded a contract by the Mundawar Panchayat Committee for sanitation work in the villages of Mator and Nangli Oja.

The complainant reported that Yadav persistently harassed him for the bribe, demanding payment to finalize the necessary documentation. Following the complaint, the ACB verified the allegations on October 23, confirming that Yadav had indeed agreed to accept the bribe in return for processing the entries.

On Thursday, under the direction of ACB Jaipur’s Superintendent of Police (SP-I) Piyush Dixit and Bhiwadi Police Inspector Surjeet Singh, the ACB team executed the trap at the Mundawar Panchayat office, apprehending Yadav and Singh while they were in the act of accepting the bribe.

The ACB has registered a case against both officials under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Additional Police Director General Smita Srivastava and Inspector General S. Parimala are overseeing the interrogation of the accused, with further legal actions anticipated. The bureau has also advised those charged to follow the due process to check the status of their cases and present their side of the story.
