Indore, September 30 (Daily Kiran) : Police in Indore continue their crackdown on illegal drugs, resulting in the arrest of two individuals on Wednesday. The suspects were apprehended in the parking area of Lesha Marriage Garden, located in Scheme Number 51, where officers found them in suspicious circumstances.
During a routine patrol, the crime branch team noticed two men sitting on a black Hero Splendor motorcycle. Upon seeing the police, they appeared nervous. The officers quickly surrounded them and made the arrest. The suspects were identified as Rahul, alias Yashu Desai, and Abhishek, alias Baba Solanki.
A thorough search of the motorcycle revealed 14 grams of brown sugar hidden in the tool box. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately ₹1.5 lakh. Both men have been booked at the Indore Crime Branch station, and investigations are underway to uncover their sources, buyers, and supplier networks.
Rahul, a resident of the Malharganj area, is educated up to the eighth grade and works in a private company’s canteen. His accomplice, Abhishek, lives in the Bhanganga area, has completed seventh grade, and laminates sweet boxes. Rahul has a history of multiple cases registered against him at various police stations. In total, authorities seized items worth ₹1.9 lakh, including the motorcycle and the drugs.
Since January 1, 2026, the Indore Crime Branch has arrested 160 individuals in 73 cases under the NDPS Act. In these operations, police have confiscated a total of 3.065 kilograms of MD drugs, 28.338 kilograms of marijuana, 500 kilograms of hemp, 372.22 grams of brown sugar, and 10 grams of cocaine, with an estimated value of nearly ₹3.93 crore.
