Chennai, April 23: The Tamilaga Vetria Kazhagam (TVK) has submitted two separate complaints to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Tamil Nadu. These complaints raise serious questions regarding the arrangements for the voting process and alleged irregularities.
The first complaint alleges that adequate transportation facilities were not provided at bus terminals across Tamil Nadu for voters wishing to return to their original locations to cast their votes. The complaint states that this lack of arrangement caused difficulties for many individuals in reaching their polling stations. It also names several senior officials accused of negligence. TVK has demanded an investigation into this matter and appropriate disciplinary action against the responsible officials.
The second complaint expresses concerns regarding police arrangements. It alleges that some police officers attempted to disrupt the peaceful voting process and have been accused of connections with the ruling party. The complaint further states that such actions could create discomfort among voters and raise questions about the fairness of the voting process.
Additionally, TVK has called for immediate rectification of any technical issues at polling stations, particularly with electronic voting machines (EVMs). The party asserts that any delays or disruptions in the voting process could impact democratic rights.
Aadhav Arjun has appealed to the Election Commission to take these complaints seriously and act promptly, ensuring that voters can exercise their rights without any hassle. TVK has emphasized that fair and transparent elections are crucial for strengthening democracy.
